Risi Competizione Wins Back-To-Back DEKRA Green Challenge Awards

Risi Competizione is celebrating today’s Earth Day by proudly displaying the back-to-back trophies for winning the DEKRA Green Challenge Award at both Sebring and Long Beach.

While the No. 62 Ferrari F458 Italia of Giancarlo Fisichella and Pierre Kaffer finished second in the Tequila Patrón Sports Car Showcase, the team was presented the DEKRA Green Challenge Award in post-race ceremonies. Risi Competizione also won the coveted award after finishing second in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh From Florida.

“It all points to the maintenance of the car in the pit stops and fuel consumption and everything that goes with the performance of the team,” team manager David Sims said. “It’s really special.”

The Corvette Racing No. 3 Corvette C7.R of Jan Magnussen, Antonio Garcia and Ryan Briscoe opened the year by winning the first DEKRA Green Challenge Award following the Rolex 24 At Daytona.

The DEKRA Green Challenge Award is presented to the most environmentally clean, fast and efficient GTLM competitor at each TUDOR Championship race. The DEKRA Green Challenge award is determined through Green Racing protocols established by the United States Department of Energy (DOE), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) International as part of an overarching strategic alliance with IMSA.
