As part of the VW Settlement, Volkswagen was required to contribute $2.925 billion to a mitigation trust fund.  These mitigation trusts are designed to fund eligible mitigation actions that replace sources of diesel emissions with cleaner technologies in order to offset the NOx emissions from the violations.  As part of the settlement, all 50 states in addition to Puerto Rico and Washington D.C. have elected to become beneficiaries.  For the latest information on mitigation plans and for links to VW funding announcements from these states and territories, click on the link below:
