Richard (Rich) McDonald is an entrepreneur focusing on energy related projects that promotes sustainability.

He has been involved with sustainability efforts for more than 30 years.  He worked on strategic efforts to reduce air pollution in Atlanta and bring the metro area into attainment with the National Air Quality Standards.  Rich is a professional engineer.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida, and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.  He received the “Mechanical Engineer of the Year Award” from ASME in 2006.  He currently serves on the STRIDE’s Strategic Planning Committee.

Rich enjoys playing softball in the Atlanta Architect and Engineering league.  Rich also loves music.  In his youth, he played drums professionally for “Anne and the Bavarians” specializing in oompah music.  Rich currently lives in Chamblee, Georgia with his wife Sandy and children (James and Jessica).
